Bora Bora

Bora Bora is a stunning tropical island in French Polynesia. It is a paradise for travelers and boasts beautiful beaches, lush landscapes and stunning lagoons. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or a family holiday, there are countless ways to enjoy this idyllic destination.

Flights – The best way to get to Bora Bora is by plane, and flights are available from some of the biggest US cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco and Dallas. They’re also incredibly cheap, making them the ideal way to see this magical place!

Once you arrive, you can catch a free ferry that runs from the airport to Vaitape, the main town on the island. It only takes about 30 minutes and is a great way to see the beautiful scenery on your way into the heart of the main island.

A lot of the hotels in Bora Bora are set on their own private islets, so they have all kinds of great activities to offer guests. These range from private beaches to on-site lagoonariums, restaurants and bars. Often, these resorts also have free kayaks and paddle boards so you can explore the lagoon at your leisure!

Beaches – You’ll find a range of beaches on the island, but one of the most photogenic is Matira Beach. Its white sand and crystal clear waters are sure to capture your imagination.

Food & Drink – In Bora Bora, the local cuisine is predominantly seafood-based. This is because the island’s many coral reefs make for a rich and varied source of fish. For example, jackfish, tuna, parrotfish and swordfish are all popular choices.

Art Galleries – The island is home to several critically acclaimed art galleries that focus on Polynesian art from across the islands. You can expect bronze sculptures, paintings and lithographs.

Hiking – If you want to experience the true beauty of Bora Bora, then you’ll need to hire a guide and go hiking. These are incredibly scenic trails that wind around the island, allowing you to see its magnificent landscape.

It’s a fairly strenuous adventure, but it’s well worth the effort. A local guide can help you explore the trails and even take you to a waterfall!

The highest point on the island is Mount Otemanu, and it has some of the most spectacular views anywhere. Its clouds create an amazing backdrop and is definitely a must-see when you’re in Bora Bora!

A jeep safari is another fantastic option. It gives you a chance to see the island’s most iconic landmarks from a different perspective, and it’s a great way to soak up the beautiful scenery.

If you’re feeling energetic, you can also do a cycling tour of the island. These are a great way to see the area and can be arranged through most of the same places that rent cars.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed way to explore the island, then I recommend taking a lagoon cruise. They’re a great way to see the island from a different angle, as you can see everything from the water!
