Bali

Stunning natural beauty, dramatic dances and colorful ceremonies, arts and crafts, and luxurious beach resorts all make Bali a must-visit destination. It’s also known for its signature souvenirs, including coffee beans, spices, oils, lace, ceramics and silverworks.

Best Time to Travel to Bali

While Bali can be visited year-round, the rainy season runs November to March. During this period, the island experiences heavy rains but it rarely rains all day and the temperatures are consistent year-round.

Most people choose to visit Bali during the dry season, April to October, when the weather is more pleasant and the air is drier. While the weather is still humid, it’s not hot as during the wet season.

You can’t miss a visit to the temples of Bali, which are some of the most stunning religious attractions in Indonesia. Some of the most famous temples are Besakih, Gunung Kawi, Goa Gajah, and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.

Balinese culture is deeply spiritual and the people are highly religious. They believe that life is governed by karma, or the concept of cause and effect. This is why you will see many offerings to their gods and spirits at every sight.

It’s very important to respect this culture and religion. For example, Balinese people are forbidden from doing any outside activities during Nyepi Eve, a day of prayer.

To get around Bali, the most common means of transport are scooters and bikes. The roads are easy to navigate within villages and coastal resort towns, although they are bumpy inland between regions.
