Bali

Bali is a tropical island packed with beaches, surfing, diving and resorts. But the real draw here is the warm and welcoming people that make up this unique island culture. They’re not only generous and genuinely friendly, but they also have a good sense of humor.

The Capital city of Denpasar is the first place you should visit when in Bali, although many travelers stay a little longer here to get their bearings before venturing off into the wild. Here, you’ll find plenty of green space and a multitude of craft markets and stalls where vendors are more than happy to haggle for the best prices possible.

One of the most popular dishes on the island is nasi campur, which is basically a bowl of rice topped with a variety of different meats and vegetables. There are different variations of this dish across the islands, but it’s a must-try here for sure!

Bakso

Indonesia’s take on meatballs, bakso is cooked in a hot broth with noodles and fried dumplings. It is often served with red sambal (chili paste) and vegetables.

You can find these in almost any street market or warung, but the best ones are often hidden away on side streets. They’re so tasty that you’ll definitely want to try more than one!

The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

Located up in West Bali, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana is an enormous cultural park dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his mount, Garuda. Here you’ll be able to learn about Bali’s rich history and religious traditions through traditional dance, ceremonies and exhibitions.
