With iridescent rice terraces, sweeping mountain scenery and world-class beaches, Bali is the perfect place to explore nature on a tropical island paradise. But it’s also home to a vibrant culture that shines through in dance, theatre performances and temple carvings.

The beaches of Bali are simply magical – especially at sunrise and sunset when you can often spot dolphins, sea turtles and mola-mola (sunfish). For the best surf, head to Kuta or Seminyak, or for a more relaxing beach experience, opt for Sanur, Nusa Dua or remote Candidasa.

The lakes in Bali are just as stunning, with beautiful reflections of the mountain scenery around them. Our favourite is Danau Beratan in Bedugul where the sacred Pura Ulun Danu Beratan temple at the centre of the lake looks as if it’s floating on water.

Bali’s waterfalls are another natural wonder that are sure to take your breath away. From the incredible Sekumpul Waterfall in the north of the island, to hidden gems like Banyumala Twin Waterfall, there are plenty of waterfalls to discover on a trip to Bali.

For a shopping experience that is truly unique to Bali, head to the colourful Ubud Art Market. Here, you’ll find a huge range of hand-carved knick-knacks, rattan bags and handmade dreamcatchers. It’s a great place to stock up on souvenirs for family and friends back home.
