Bali is one of the most popular destinations in Asia, and for good reason! It’s a tropical paradise with beautiful beaches and soft fluffy sand. It’s also a surfers paradise, home to some of the best waves in the world. And it’s also full of amazing culture, with a blend of ancient Hinduism and Buddhism. From dramatic dances and ceremonies, to awe-inspiring temples and incredible natural beauty, this island has something for everyone!
There are so many things to do in Bali, and you’ll need a minimum of 2 weeks to really experience the best of it. However, the island is super budget friendly, and you can find a private hotel for as little as $10 USD per night and meals costing as low as $1-3 in local ‘warungs’ (family owned restaurants).
The Balinese people speak Balinese and variations of Indonesian, Kawi, and English, but they are very familiar with foreign visitors. This is because of the large number of tourists that visit the island each year. Most people are very kind and welcoming, and there is a huge amount of community spirit and warmth amongst the population.
The only thing that I would say to be cautious about is the natural disasters, especially volcanoes and earthquakes, as the island is on The Ring Of Fire and has 3 active volcanoes. Also, be sure to check the weather and surf conditions before heading to Bali as it can change very quickly.
