Bali is also famous for its awe-inspiring scenery of looming volcanoes and lush terraced rice fields. It’s not hard to see why it attracts travelers from all over the world.
The Balinese people are deeply religious and believe in karma. They honor their gods with offerings all over the streets and at their temples and shrines. This is why you’ll see many baskets filled with flower petals, rice, fruit and incense everywhere. It’s a lovely way to keep their culture alive and respect their religion.
You’ll find that the island is extremely friendly with locals who are more than happy to help you. They speak a little English and are always smiling. There is a lot of things to do in Bali like visiting the rice terraces, hiking Mount Batur for sunrise or enjoying a show at the Bali Theatre.
You can get around by waving down a cab on the street in the bigger towns or getting a private driver to take you to your destination. You can also rent a motorcycle to have more freedom and privacy to explore on your own or join a tour with a guide. The official currency in Bali is the Indonesian rupiah but dollars are widely accepted.
